Licorish, Leven Commit
Cliff Ellis used two scholarships over the weekend, and used them well. One went to a post player and the other to a perimeter man.
Terry Licorish, a 6-9, 240 pounder from Canada committed to the Tigers. If you recall, Licorish played last season at Mount Zion in Durham, N.C., and was thought to be ticketed for Louisville. However, he failed to qualify and made his way to Laurinburg.
Licorish saw his stock rise sharply after a performance at the 2000 Nike All-American Camp where he displayed explosiveness, shot blocking ability and a decent medium-range touch. He'll probably play some power forward and center for the Tigers. He was a Top 100 recruit last year.
Leven, a native of Australia, is an athletic 6-5 wing. His dunk at the recent Charlie Weber Invitational was one of the best we've seen in AAU competition in a long time. At Auburn, he projects as wing player. Surely, the Tigers will love his athleticism and ability to make shots from downtown.
Basically, the Tigers added a pair of players who can help them out and should figure into their rotation early in their careers.
