Ashanti Cook, 6-1 PG Los Angeles Westchester, committed to New Mexico after his official visit there last weekend.
We spoke with Ashanti last night and asked him about his decision. "The fan support there is great," Ashanti said. "And I had a real good bond with the players and the staff. I went with my gut feeling."
Ashanti also said that he was impressed with the Lobo version of Midnight Madness. "It was crazy," he said. "They had a football game first and then 9,000 people came out for Midnight Madness."
While a number of schools across the country expressed interest in Ashanti, in the end it came down to Minnesota and New Mexico.
