No Decision Yet

The Brad Buckman Saga could be nearing an end. There is a chance he might make a decision this evening. And then again … he might not. (This story contains an update as of 10:30 p.m. ET)

UPDATE (10:30 p.m. ET): Both Rick Barnes and Matt Doherty will live to see another day in the Buckman Sweepstakes. Buckman did not decide on Monday. "I don't think tonight," Brent Buckman, Brad's father said. "I think in the next couple of days he will. It's getting down to where you are going to have to tell somebody no."

Austin, Tex., Westlake High power forward could be nearing a decision. Buckman, as has been widely reported, is down to North Carolina and Texas.

According to his family, he's supposedly made a decision but has yet to reveal it. The Buckman's were at the Senior Club Pro Championships last weekend where Brad's father finished sixth and qualified to play in a senior tour event next June, but the family has not sat down and been informed of what school Brad has selected yet.

The decision apparently has been quite agonizing for the Top 20 power forward. We've said for the past two weeks that it could go either way and that's exactly where it stands.

"He's already made the decision and we had promised from the beginning that he would sit down and tell us first," Buckman's mother said. However, as of 7:30 p.m. on Monday that meeting has not taken place. No press conference has been scheduled for Tuesday and it's unclear if that's the route he'll even take to make the announcement, according to the family.

Aside from selecting a school one other possibility remains. There is a chance he could wait until the spring signing period, but that's unlikely, we think.

"We just got back and he's been extremely vague. One minute I think it's Texas and the next minute I think it's North Carolina."

Stay tuned. There could be a decision as early as this evening and then again maybe not. Sorry to be vague, but really where the situation stands.
