Saints Pick Up Commitment No. 3

Siena coach Rob Lanier has four scholarships to work with this year. However, he's now given out three of them after Siena's latest commitment from a power forward.

Williams Picks Saints

Paul Williams, a 6-9, 195 pound forward from Elizabeth (NJ) St. Patrick, committed to Siena on Monday. Williams had received interest from the Saints, Cleveland State and Drexel. He also made an official visit to Pittsburgh.

"He's in a situation I think where he likes Siena and they recruited him harder and longer than anybody," St. Patrick coach Kevin Boyle said.

Williams enrolled at St. Patrick this year after spending the bulk of his high school career at North Bergen High in New Jersey.

Boyle is excited about Williams' upside and thinks Siena got a good one. "He needs to get tougher and stronger because with his skill level he'll be really, really good."

Williams is the third player to commit to Rob Lanier this season. The first was swingman David Ryan and Michael Haddix enlisted with the Saints last month. They now have one scholarship remaining and would like to give the grant away to a combination guard.
