Marshall Picks Up Fourth Recruit

Greg White and the Thundering Herd now have four commitments from members of the Class of 2002. On Sunday, the Herd nabbed one of the best players from the state of Kentucky.

Carter To Run With Herd

Louisville (KY) Male power forward Levar Carter made his decision on Sunday. He's going to Marshall.

"I made a verbal commitment and by the time the signing period comes, I guess I'll be signing with them," Carter said.

He also considered Wright State and Butler and visited both, but Marshall tugged harder at him. "When I took a visit down there I enjoyed the coaches and the players and how they are united," Carter said. "It's pretty down there and I felt comfortable."

Last season, Carter averaged 10 points and 8 rebounds for a talented Male team. He's a low-post scorer at 6-7 and has skills around the basket.

Marshall's class is looking very good. Forwards Mark Patton and Renardo Dixon join Carter. Combo forward, Robert Strickland, a sparkplug around the rim, is also headed to Marshall.
