Tello Palacios Making Headway

Tello Palacios' recruitment has been pretty close to the vest, but the Our Savior (N.Y.) senior forward is finally going to start to get things going when he sets up some visits anyday now.

Tello Palacios' goal was to bypass college and go straight to the NBA and the way he played last weekend in a shocking blowout win against previously unbeaten Mount Zion Academy (N.C.), that could be a reality.

The 6-8, 240-pound Palacios, who has slimmed down considerably and focused more on doing most of his damage in the paint as opposed to launching long-range shots, was terrific in the victory at the Prime Time Shootout.

Palacios scored 24 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and showed nice touch and aggressiveness around the basket.

Palacios' recruitment has been somewhat odd in that he has yet to take any official visits. However, that could change any day now.

Palacios now lists Louisville, Texas, Florida State, Kentucky, Indiana and Georgia as his top schools. He'd like to visit two or three of them and then make a decision, if possible.

``I want to go somewhere that the coach can help me to get better and help me develop to the next level," Palacios said.

In addition to preparation for the NBA, Palacios also wants to go somewhere that he can step right in and receive major minutes.
