2005 Focus: Terrence Williams

The state of Washington has standout prospects every year. This year one of the best in the state is athletic 6-5 wing Terrence Williams from Seattle Rainier Beach. He talks about his early favorite...

Terrence Williams, 6-5 JR SG Seattle (Wash.) Rainier Beach, is pretty clear about his favorite school at the moment.

"Arizona is my favorite," said Williams. "That's where I want to go."

We asked about other schools that might interest him if it doesn't work out with the Wildcats and Williams said, "I also like Kansas, North Carolina, Washington, Oregon – they have a great program, and USC. I like Coach Bibby. And Gonzaga is another really good program."

Williams said a few schools have offered him. "Arizona said they'd take me right now," said Williams. "So did UDub and Gonzaga."

We questioned Williams about the timing of his decision and he replied, "I did want to do it soon, but I think I'll wait, take my five visits and then sit down with my coach to talk it over."

Williams said early playing time is not a primary consideration for him. "I feel if I go to a good program, they'll make me into a good player," said Williams. "It'd be nice to play some if I earn it, but I want to go someplace where I'll be a point guard – I want to be recruited as a point guard. So if they have someone I can learn from, that would be fine."

Williams told us that he had a 3.6 GPA last semester. He said he'll take the SAT after his season ends.
