Dawgs Lead For Dozier; New School Calls

Lithonia (GA) High's Robert Dozier still has the same leader, and for the most part, the same plan. One prominent ACC school has made a call to see where he stands.

For the past few weeks, senior small forward Robert Dozier of Lithonia High in Georgia has been talking about the same schools: Georgia, Miami, North Carolina State and UAB.

The Bulldogs, as they have for the last month, are in the lead. ""I think I can get a lot of playing time there," Dozier said.

"I haven't taken any visits. We've got about two more weeks left in the season. After that, I'll start to take some visits."

Last Tuesday, the North Carolina Tar Heels tossed him a call to see what was going on with his situation.

"I'm not too sure about the situation there. It was one of the assistant coaches [that called], I forgot his name. They're not sure if they're going to have a scholarship or not. They're not sure what they are going to do with [JamesOn Curry] and they don't know if some of the players are going to go to the NBA."

Dozier said he expected another call from UNC in the future but it wasn't discussed whether they were coming to see him in the future.

Scout's Take – Long and lean, Dozier is cut from the mold of scorer. Seems like he prefers to take the ball to the rim instead of firing from the outside. Can put up good numbers and some view him as a combo forward though his body is more SF at this juncture.
