We asked if any school stood out from the pack and Okafor replied, "Stanford would have to be my favorite – it's a big-time school."
Okafor listed some of the factors he'd consider when choosing a school. "A good environment, good coaching and strong academics," said Okafor.
We asked him if he had any geographical preference and Okafor replied, "No, I'll go wherever the best situation is for me."
Don't look for an early decision from Okafor. "I'm going to wait and take my time," said Okafor.
While he hasn't been on any official visits yet, Okafor has been to one local school. "I've been to Santa Clara several times for games," Okafor said. "I've seen their coaches at some of my games and when we had an open gym."
So far this year, he's averaged around 12 points and nine rebounds a game. Okafor told us that his GPA is 3.7 and he'll take the SAT in March or May.
