Hansbrough Entertaining More Schools

Tyler Hansbrough and his Poplar Bluff team are creeping closer to a state title in Missouri. Meanwhile, one of the nation's elite juniors says he's thinking of listening to some more schools.

Earlier in the week, 6-9 junior power forward Tyler Hansbrough locked horns with senior Kalen Grimes and Hazelwood Central. Hansbrough's club escaped with a close victory. Now, he's just a few games away from history.

"We have to win three more to be state champions and one more to go the Final Four," Hansbrough said. We play Monroe Douglas' team Saturday in St. Louis."

The stud junior is averaging 27 points a game. Against Hazelwood Central, Mississippi State head coach Rick Stansbury attended a game this week.

Mississippi State? Yes, apparently Hansbrough is starting to listen to more schools.

"I'm kind of at the same spot. I'm going to take some more visits. I think it's going to be between Kentucky, Kansas, Arizona, Duke and Mississippi State [for the other visits]."

So far, Hansbrough has tripped to North Carolina, Florida and Missouri. He wouldn't say which trip ranked ahead of the others. "I'd say they're all on the same level. They're all great places."

So, what would it take for another school to join the ranks of UNC, Florida and Missouri as a school he'll visit? "I want to see who is going to recruit me the hardest and who wants me the most. I guess by maybe showing up to a game but I know it's during their season."

Hansbrough's original game plan was to take some visits and then decide by March 1. He's since backed off that plan. "I thought that things were moving too fast. I didn't realize how big a decision it was until I actually thought about it."
