Steffan Johnson, 6-0 JR PG Kent (Wash.) Kent-Meridian, is a quick and skilled young point with a chance to play the mid to high major level. With added weight and strength, we think he'll be a very nice prospect.

We spoke with Johnson last night and asked him about the schools he's interested in at this time.

"Right now, it's mainly Stanford," said Johnson. "I'm also interested in Washington, Oregon and Gonzaga."

Johnson said he would prefer to stay in the west. Asked about other issues that might influence his decision, Johnson said, "Someplace that's academically strong, first of all. Then my overall feel for the coaches and players, and how I like the area surrounding the school."

Johnson hasn't taken any visits at this point, but says he wants to take a few before choosing a school.

"I'll probably take my time," said Johnson. "I don't see a decision anytime soon."

Johnson told us that he has a 3.8 GPA and he'll take the SAT at the end of this month.
