7-3 Center Picks Old Dominion

It's not like the Old Dominion Monarchs won't be outstanding next season. However, with the recent addition of a 7-3 center they should be even better.

The Old Dominion Monarchs mined their Australian pipeline one more time. This time, they needed a big drill to do the mining. Blaine Taylor's squad landed 7-3, 260 pound center Sam Harris out of the Australian Institute of Sport.

Harris, who could wind up being the mid-major version of Luke Schenscher, played for the under-20 Australian National team last summer and helped the squad capture the title in Greece.

Sources say he's got some work to do but has a chance to be an outstanding player. His frame will allow him to get even larger. His relationship with current All-CAA forward Alex Loughton – another Australian – aided in ODU's pursuit of him.

During a barnstorming trip to the United States, Harris visited Washington and Loyola Marymount.

Harris will sign in April with the Monarchs.
