The 6-5 ½, 205-pound St. Mary's High (N.Y.) junior will get a chance to follow in the footsteps of guys like Jason Fraser, Charlie Villanueva and Josh Wright as stars with the New York Panthers (formerly the Long Island Panthers).
The difference is that his three predecessors all went into the summer with big-time reps.
``With this year's team, Danny will have to take the leading role," Panthers boss Gary Charles said. "He's kind of a poor man's Ron Artest. He can play four or five different positions."
Green is known for his sweet jumper, court vision and versatility. He still needs to refine his ballhandling, improve his quickness and also work on his footwork.
``I can pretty much play every position and I see the floor pretty well," added Green. "But I need to work on being able to guard quick guards."
For the second consecutive season after transferring from North Babylon High, he averaged 18 points per game.
