Rick Barnes and the Texas Longhorns received a commitment from Pittsfield (ME) Maine Central combo guard Kenton Paulino.

Paulino, a native of Los Angeles, is attending Maine Central to boost his test score. He played last summer with H Squad. As a senior at Los Angeles Freemont last year, Paulino averaged 24 points and was the Los Angeles City Co-Player of the Year with UCLA freshman Andre Patterson.

"I knew that they had a great coaching staff and the coaches were real nice but the players made me feel like they really wanted me there," Paulino said. "Plus, I thought it was going to be all country and it wasn't like that at all."

Paulino is going to play a combo guard role for the Longhorns. He joins power forward Brad Buckman in the two-man Texas class.
