Marcus Lawrence, 5-10 SO PG Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman, has good skills for a young point and a nice understanding of the position.

We talked with Lawrence after a game he played Sunday in San Diego. Asked which teams were currently showing him the most interest, Lawrence said, "Arizona State, Oregon State, Cal, Oregon, UNLV, some others."

Lawrence told us that an SEC school was his dream school when he was younger. "I liked Kentucky -- they were my favorite," Lawrence said.

We asked Lawrence if there is any program he'd like to hear from that isn't currently showing a lot of interest. "UCLA," said Lawrence. "I've gotten some mail from them, but not a lot."

We asked Lawrence if he'd given any thought to the factors that will influence his college choice.

"The people around me -- the players and coaches. And I like warm weather," said Lawrence.

Lawrence wasn't sure about the timing of his decision. "I'd like to do it before my senior year," Lawrence said. "But I could do it earlier if the right offer came along."
