Traveling Team: Metro Hawks

With a one-two punch of Tyrell Biggs and Jonathan Mitchell, it'll be tough stop the Metro Hawks. They are two of the most versatile players in the nation and that should make life difficult for the opposition.

New name and a new team.

Kenny Pretlow is still running things, but the name has changed from Riverside Church to the Metro Hawks and there's one big-time omission on the roster; Derrick Caracter.

``I don't think it's really any different," Pretlow said. "Just the name change. This team will be very good."

However, even without Caracter in the fold, these guys should still be able to more than hold their own. With a duo of Tyrell Biggs and Jonathan Mitchell, the Hawks will have a couple of go-to guys at their disposal.

``I think Tyrell will definitely establish himself as a Top 10 player in the class," Pretlow said. "The sky's the limit for him. I think people will be surprised to see how well he can shoot the three and also handle it."

Biggs is a versatile 6-7 1/2 , 270-pound junior big man who is being pursued by numerous high-majors and Mitchell is a 6-6, 230-pound sophomore from Mount Vernon High (N.Y.) who can play inside or out.

``We have the potential to be really good," Mitchell said. "But right now we're just figuring things out. Me and Tyrell played together last summer, so we have good chemistry, but we just need to get everyone else on the same page."

Christ the King athletic 6-9 junior Adam Walker will comprise the final spot along the frontline while his high school teammate, 6-2 strong guard Chris Martin, and Bishop Loughlin 5-10, 170-pound junior point guard Herbie Allen will form the starting backcourt.

Mitchell's teammate, 6-1 junior Chris Lowe, will see plenty of time and could earn a starting spot. Christ the King 6-4 junior wing Akeem Gooding should get extensive action off the bench.

``We could use one more shooter," Pretlow said. "Herbie Allen is a streak shooter and other than that, we'll see."
