``Our strength is with our team defense," Papile said. "This team has the ability. They work real hard on defense and get after people."
Brookline High 6-6 senior Jeff Adrien, who is likely headed to Brewster Academy for a year of prep school, will likely see most of his time at the power forward spot. Adrien is a hard-working athletic forward can rebounds and blocks shots.
He'll be joined on the frontline by St. Andrew's (R.I.) 6-8 junior Jonathan Kale, who is well aware of his role in the post and doesn't stray from what's needed of him.
Papile will start a trio of guards, led by fairly unknown 6-2, 165-pound junior Farnold Degand, who has already attracted some high-major D-1 schools despite playing in the Boston public schools. Tabor's Colby Santos, a versatile 6-5 junior, will start at the point alongside 6-2, 210-pound Thayer Academy junior Tyrese Gibbs.
Two players who should receive substantial time off the bench are 6-2, 170-pound sophomore Anthony Gurley and 5-9, 160-pound floor leader Jeremy Shannon.
``We don't have McDonald's All-Americans," added Papile. "But that's fine. The biggest thing we have going for us is that we have a lot of experience in our system and we have guys who've had success at the lower grade levels. Adrien, Santos and Kale all played with our under-17's last year and we went to the final eight of the Showcase."
``We're more unselfish this year," added Adrien. "This year I really want to show what I've got. People in the state have seen it, but I want people nationally to see it."
