Traveling Team: Salt Lake Metro

The state of Utah has a number of top players on the west coast and Salt Lake Metro will be the beneficiary of that talent. Coach Dave Hammer's squad should be among the top teams on the western circuit.

Hammer's frontline will be led by Brayden Bell, a 6-9 250-pound C/PF. Bell, who is receiving interest nationally from the likes of Louisville, Oklahoma, North Carolina and all of the top Western schools, is an extremely skilled big man. "Brayden is an excellent passer with NBA 3 point range" Hammer remarked. "He also has a nice jump hook on the block and the body to take a pounding down low".

Bell will be joined on the frontline by 6-9 Coby Leavitt. "Leavitt is a very bouncy 6-9 player, a good shotblocker with an excellent shooting touch to the 3," remarked Coach Hammer. Also joining the Metro frontline will be 6-8 Nate Bendall and 6-8 Sol Jensen. "Bendall and Jensen are both low-to-mid D-1 players," Hammer stated, "Both players are extremely active rebounders and just need experience." Jensen is the younger brother of ex-Utah player Alex Jensen.

At the wings, expect to see the 3 being shot often and successfully. The main bomber should be 6-7 Joe Darger. Darger, who led the adidas Big Time in scoring last summer as a sophomore, is a potent offensive threat. "Joe is a big time shooter with an excellent feel for the game" Hammer stated. Darger is being recruited extensively nationally as well.

Joining Darger at the wings, will be 6-3 athletic Jackson Emery, a first team Utah all state player and an excellent 3 point shooter. He will be joined by 6-3 Ryan Sanchez and 6-0 Cliff Snyder, a tenacious defender. Metro will also have available at selected tourneys the state's other bomber deluxe, Shaun Green.

Tyler Newbold, at 6-4, 190-pounds will combo at the point and at the guard position. "Tyler is a tremendous athlete with major hops," Hammer said, "he also is extremely fundamentally sound at everything he does. He can shoot the 3, has a mid-range game and can dunk on you off the drive. He is also an excellent passer; my only criticism is he may too unselfish". 6-0 Jacques Wilson will provide a defensive presence at the point as well.

"This should be a great group to coach. They are a very driven group that I will expect to improve every time out."
