Jefferson Has Pac-10 Visitors

Jerry-Davon Jefferson, one of the more athletic players in the west, told us recently that he's had several Pac-10 schools visit him at his high school...

Jerry-Davon Jefferson, 6-7 JR PF Lynwood (Calif.) High, has as much upside as any power forward in the west. In fact, Jefferson has the agility and quickness to someday play the three, assuming he can develop his perimeter skills.

Jefferson is very explosive off the floor and he'll usually show you a highlight play or two in most games. Consistency, however, is a problem and he'll sometimes disappear for long stretches. If Jefferson can improve his focus, and continue to hone his low-post game, he has a chance to be a very effective player at the next level.

We spoke with Jefferson in Houston and asked him which schools have come to visit him at his high school.

"Oregon State, USC, Arizona State and Washington have been out to see me at my school," said Jefferson.

We asked if there are any other schools that he's interested in at this time and Jefferson replied, "Arizona -- I'm interested in them. And some others -- I don't really have a list, I'm interested in everyone right now."

When questioned about which schools are recruiting him the hardest right now, Jefferson said, "USC and Washington are recruiting me the hardest."

Jefferson told us last spring that he struggled a bit academically his first two years in high school, but he's now making a serious effort to improve his GPA.
