Phoenix Lands Evans

It's been a long journey for St. Louis Cardinal Ritter standout Terry Evans finally ended a long journey and signed with a college on Monday.

Terry Evans, a 6-5 swingman out of Cardinal Ritter in St. Louis, signed with Wisconsin-Green Bay on Monday. Ritter, a standout athlete with a big upside, suffered a damaging knee injury later in his high school career when he damaged his meniscus and then re-injured the knee as a senior.

However, Wisconsin-Green Bay head coach Tod Kowalczyk never wavered in his recruitment of Evans.

"Green Bay had been there really from the start," Evans said. "They were willing to take a chance on me so I'll take a chance on them."

Bradley and Illinois State were also involved, according to Evans, a repeat second-team all-stater as a senior.

The Phoenix recruited Evans to play the small forward and two guard roles. Known for his outstanding athleticism, Evans says he's ready to return from the knee injury.

"I'm 100% back. The only holdback is getting my quad muscles back to a 100%. I still do the same jumping stuff but now I jump with two feet instead of one."

If Evans can put his injuries in the past then this could wind up being a big addition for the Horizon League program.
