Ibok Headed To Big Ten

Idongesit Ibok, a 6-10 center out of Montverde Academy, took an official visit last week. Within a few days he had reached a decision.

Idongesit Ibok, a 6-10, 260 pound native of Nigeria, is headed to Michigan State, according to a source.

Ibok visited Michigan State last week. He was interested in Florida State early in the process. As it wound down, his schools were Michigan State, Georgia and Virginia Tech.

A native of Nigeria, Ibok attended the Nike All-American Camp last season where he was measured to have one of the longest reaches and wing spans in the entire camp.

"I really believe that he is going to have an outstanding career there," Montverde coach Kevin Sutton said. "He's improved so much since the end of basketball season. Physically he's a different 265. His best basketball is ahead of him and he'll be a tremendous player once he gets with a college strength and conditioning coach.

"He doesn't have any bad habits. I think his best basketball is in college where every touch is not a foul. He can really block shots and rebound. He's got a good jump hook and he's an excellent passer out of the post. He knows what he does well and he knows what he doesn't do well."
