Clark Headed To Mountain West

Cypress Springs High has been cranking out Division I players the past few years. It started with Karon Bradley and now C.J. Clark has made his decision.

Three weeks ago in Las Vegas, Colorado State head coach Dale Layer was shadowing David Salinas' Houston Select program. On Friday, Layer got to hear one of Select's kids give him good news.

C.J. Clark, a 6-7 combo forward out of Cypress Springs, committed to the Rams over SMU.

Shortly after his official visit, we caught up with Clark. "Right now, I don't have to worry about recruiting," Clark said. "I can just play. Those guys at Colorado State, they're real people."

And the Rams are probably real excited on their end.

Layer's commitment to Clark during the spring didn't go unnoticed. "They were everywhere and they showed me the love."

Clark is a bouncy forward with a live body. He'll find himself in different situations at CSU. "I can shoot the ball and can pass it well. I think I've got a pretty good feel for the game."
