Douglas-Roberts Fighting Through Injury

An injury kept Chris Douglas-Roberts out of the biggest traveling team event of the year. However, he's ready to bounce back and entertaining new schools.

Chris Douglas-Roberts, a 6-5 guard out of Detroit Cass Tech ranks as one of the top guards in his class. However, recently it's been tough to see him out on the circuit. He's been hampered by an injury.

"I pulled a groin and I didn't know too much about the groin and I came back too soon and I really aggravated it," Douglas-Roberts said.

Last week, Douglas-Roberts said he didn't knew the absolute date he'd be back but he did start playing lightly and could be ready to go this week.

In the meantime, the injury has done little to slow him down from a recruiting perspective. He's as hot as ever in terms of interest from biggies.

"It's pretty much been a new school getting in every week or two. It's real early with North Carolina recruiting me. A week or so back, I talked to Roy Williams. He wanted to see if I had some interest in North Carolina.

Arkansas and Georgia recently made pitches to him and he's been consistently hearing from Connecticut, Kansas, Florida, Oklahoma, UCLA, Dayton, Michigan, Michigan State, DePaul, Oregon and North Carolina State.

During the last week of the contact period, Bill Self, Billy Donovan and Herb Sendek came in to see him. Other head coaches like Ben Howland, Tom Izzo, Tommy Amaker and Stan Heath are handling Douglas-Roberts' recruitment themselves.

As for visits, he's not ready to take that step at this time.

"I just talked to a whole lot of assistant coaches. I only talked to a couple head coaches so I'm going to make any visits until I talked to a head coach and the head coach comes to see him. Head coaches sub the players out of the game so until I see interest from them, then I'll start making decisions."
