Larry Gurganious, a 6-foot-5 junior small forward from Berkeley (Calif.) St. Mary's, told us recently that three schools came to visit him during the contact period.

"Washington, Arizona State and Pacific came to see me at my high school," said Gurganious.

We asked if any of the coaches had made a particular impression and Gurganious replied, "Coach Romar from Washington -- I liked him."

Gurganious hasn't taken any visits, official or unofficial, yet and we asked if there are any plans for a visit.

"I haven't set anything up yet," said Gurganious. "But all three of those schools said they want me to visit."

Gurganious doesn't yet have a detailed set of criteria for choosing a school. "Really just a place where I have a fair chance at playing time and somewhere I feel comfortable," said Gurganious.

Gurganious told us it's possible he'll make an early decision. "I might want to do it quickly, and get it over with, so I don't have to deal with the pressure," said Gurganious.

In addition to the three schools that visited him, Gurganious said several others are showing interest. "I'm hearing from Kansas, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Oregon and Oregon State," said Gurganious.

Gurganious told us he has a 2.9 GPA and he's waiting on results from a recent SAT test.

In addition to playing at the Big Time and Best of Summer tournaments, Gurganious will be attending the ABCD camp in July.
