Brandon Smith Reveals Elite Five

You won't have to worry about overexposure with Brandon Smith. The Patrick Henry High (Minn.) wing will be taking it easy this summer, instead choosing to focus more on individual skills.

Don't expect to see too much of Brandon Smith this summer.

The Patrick Henry (Minn.) 6-6, 200-pound junior has left Team Minnesota and will play with Howard Pulley for the rest of the spring and summer, but he'll only play in a few of the major tournaments.

``I'm going to concentrate more on working out and trying to improve my individual game," Smith said. "It's my own choice."

Smith, whose biggest strength is his ability to get to the basket and finish, said he plans to play at the Memorial Day Classic in New Orleans and he'll attend the ABCD Camp.

Smith, who still needs to show some college coaches that he can knock down the outside shot with more consistency, averaged 17 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game this past season and said he has numerous offers on the table from the likes of Minnesota, Marquette, Iowa State, Nebraska, Purdue, Stanford and Oklahoma.

So far, Smith, who boasts a 3.8 GPA and is in the National Honor Society, has a top five of Stanford, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Marquette and Iowa State.
