Ellis Headed To A&M

Billy Gillispie, the new head coach at Texas A&M, went into a state he's familiar with in order to land a guard.

Jamarcus Ellis, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, is headed to Texas A&M. The two-time all-city selection signed a national letter of intent with the Aggies on Wednesday.

Ellis, a 6- 5 guard, played his high school ball at Westinghouse in Chicago where he averaged 20 points a game as a senior.

The jack-of-all-trades type guard told the Sun-Times that he felt comfortable with the Aggies' situation.

"For me, it was about finding a place where I could go and feel comfortable, play the style of ball I like to play and have a good feel about coaching staff," Ellis told the paper. "I got that with Texas A&M and I feel good about my decision to go there and play."
