Haggerty Will Wait For Spring

Canyon Country, Calif., swingman Jeremy Haggerty has some academic issues to get worked out. He'll wait until the spring to decide and hopes to have a good enough season to draw interest from a certain Pac-10 program.

Swingman Should Heat Up In The Spring

Canyon Country (CA) Canyon swingman Jeremy Haggerty isn't going to sign a letter of intent this period. "The big reason is I am trying to get my SAT score a little higher and I am hoping I can get some more attention," Haggerty said.

Haggerty says Oregon, UTEP and Southern Cal have shown interest. "If I had to sign today I would sign with Oregon. They said my SAT need to come up some more."

While it's clear Haggerty needs a slight academic boost, it's also clear where he truly wants to go. "Arizona, that's the place. I've watched them on TV and I think I can compete and beat out some of those guys." At the 2001 Spiece Event, Haggerty showed high-major promise as a scorer off the bounce from medium-range.

He says he struggles to receive exposure because of the location and size of his high school. If he can get his scores in order, there's no doubt that he can play somewhere for a high-major program.
