Levance Fielding Interest From High-Majors

There are some good point guards in New York this year. Guys like Paulus, Mayben and McAlarney are fast becoming household names. Meet Levance Fields, another member of our Top 100.

Levance Fields, a 6-foot-1 point guard out of Brooklyn (N.Y.) Xaverian, debuted in our new Top 100 at No. 69. Last season, he averaged 15.4 points.

Fields is hoping to lead the New York Gauchos to a few more wins on the traveling team circuit. Last season, the Gauchos captured three major tournaments.

"Since last summer I've played pretty good," Fields said. "We've started off good but been a little shaky. We should have won some tournaments.

"I think I'm just so confident in my shot that it's taking me over the top a little bit. I feel like I can go on somebody when I want."

Thus far, Pittsburgh, St. John's, Ohio State and Rider have been chasing him the hardest. Miami, Rutgers, Georgia Tech and UNLV have shown interest as well.

"All of the schools are interested. I'm not sure about the offers but they want me to come to the schools and take visits."

For Fields, it'll be a while before he gets comfortable enough with a school to make a decision. "Right now, I don't have too much of a favorite. I want to go look at the schools and feel it out. I want to see what my position would be on the team."
