West Coast 2005 Pre-Summer Rankings: Point Guards

The point guards rankings for 2005 are led by players such as Mario Chalmers, Anthony Goods, Andre McGee and Darren Collison...

In a relatively down year for point guards in the west, Chalmers gets the nod as the top prospect. While he isn't outstanding at any one aspect of the game, Chalmers is good in most areas. He's more of a scorer than distributor, but that may be a function of playing against bad competition in Alaska. Collison is slender, but has good quickness, a nice feel for the game and a good outside shot. He'll need to add weight and strength, but he's a high major prospect. Goods has good size and a very nice outside shot. He could end up playing shooting guard in college, but also has a chance to play the one. McGee is a talented and prolific scorer, but needs to improve his decision-making and shot selection in order to play point guard at the next level. McTear has very good instincts, good quickness and a nice mid-range game. He'll need to improve his stroke from beyond the three-point line.
