As a high schooler, Alexander came out of Midwest City, Okla., where he averaged 19 points a game and was the No. 64 player in America.
He'll be expected to have an immediate impact on the program after sitting out next season. "I think it's a different style of basketball then I play now," Alexander said. "It's more wide open and I can do something down low in the post."
Georgia Tech and St. John's showed interest in Alexander but after visiting Charlotte it became a done deal. "They started recruiting me and I liked it and then I went down to take a visit and I liked it. The opportunity for me there is big."
