This weekend, Hansbrough will return to Chapel Hill, N.C., to visit North Carolina, the program he officialed to last winter.
"I'm getting there with my dad," Hansbrough said. "I need to check out the campus again. I've gotten to the know staff better and I'll feel more comfortable on this visit."
The big question surrounding the Tar Heels and Hansbrough began developing mid-week when it became clear that UNC was also chasing David Padgett. Can Hansbrough, Padgett and possibly even 6-8 power forward Richard Hendrix all co-exist in the same recruiting class?
Hansbrough said that he thought it would work with 2 of the 3 players but wasn't sure about all three of them. From a North Carolina perspective, how many schools have a big man target list with three heavy hitters on it right now? UNC appears to be in good shape with its frontcourt targets.
The Padgett-Hansbrough question, as far as Hansbrough is concerned, will get cleared up this weekend. "I talked to Coach Williams and he said that he hadn't spoken to [Padgett] but he's going to talk to me about it on the visit."
Regardless of what happens this weekend, this might not be Hansbrough's final visit. "I'm thinking about maybe one more visit to Kentucky but that still hasn't been set up yet."
Right now, Hansbrough said he's still considering four schools: North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky and Missouri. There are still a lot of things he's investigating about each school and he can't really say what single thing is important to him.
"There are a lot of factors. Probably the main one is what the situation may have for me: who they have and what they tell me and what they see me as."
