2005 Focus: Ian O'Leary

Ian O'Leary, 6-6 JR SF Woodlake (Calif.) Woodlake Christian, is the kind of player coaches like to have on their team. A versatile forward, O'Leary can shoot it from the stripe, go inside for rebounds, slash from the wing and play defense. He figures to get plenty of interest from mid to high major programs.

We spoke with O'Leary recently and asked him about the schools he's heard from so far.

"Santa Clara, San Francisco, St. Mary's, UC Davis, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Cornell, Rutgers and Pacific," said O'Leary.

O'Leary told us that Yale, Santa Clara and Pacific all came by his school during the contact period.

"Stanford also called," said O'Leary. "I'm going to their camp later on."

O'Leary told us that a few schools have offered official visits. "Yale, Santa Clara and St. Mary's all said they want me to visit," said O'Leary.

O'Leary said he'd like to make a decision prior to his senior year. "It'd be nice to get it done at the end of the summer," O'Leary said.

A very good student, O'Leary told us that he has a 3.6 GPA. He just took the SAT last weekend.
