The 6-6, 170-pound Chandler High (Ariz.) senior-to-be is a terrific outside shooter who has also shown the ability to block shots on the defensive end and handle the ball.
``I think he's a smaller version of Reggie Miller," Arizona Magic coach David Grace said. "He always brings his jump shot with him and always seems to get it done. He is good right now, but whoever gets him is going to get a great college player because he has so much upside and has the work ethic to get better. He's one of the best all-around kids I've ever coached."
Shaw still needs to get stronger, quicker and more aggressive in going to the basket, but he's already got plenty of suitors. In fact, his top five list reads as follows: USC, Washington, Miami, Oklahoma and Oregon State.
``I haven't played as well as I'd have liked so far this spring and summer," Shaw said. "I did well in Houston at the Kingwood Classic and then hurt my ankle pretty bad at the Tournament of Champions."
Shaw said he's about 90 percent now and he should be completely healthy by the time ABCD Camp rolls around early next month.
``I'm going to start scheduling my visits after ABCD Camp, so I can see what happens after that," Shaw added.
