Miller Looking For A Chance

Sanford School is one of the reigning powerhouse programs in Delaware. Next week, we'll be in Hockessin for a workout. Here's a little look at one of their leaders, point guard Earl Miller.

Waiting For An Offer

Earl Miller, a 5-11, 180 pounder is the leader of a fine Sanford basketball team. Miller, a senior, averaged 18 points a game and was an All-Flight A performer last season. He was a second-team all-stater.

However, he currently has no scholarship offers. His coach, Stan Waterman, thinks that will change by the end of the year.

"He's playing very and he's going to benefit from all of the attention Mr. Sheridan's getting," Waterman said. "I think he's a mid-major. He's got that ability. He has the heart of a lion."

Waterman says Towson, Drexel and Boston University are recruiting him but nobody has offered him everything to this point. Miller is a tough, hard-nosed leader. One of those get everyone involved types. Surely, his recruiting climate will change by the end of the year.

Also at Sanford is 6-8 forward Will Sheridan. The ABCD All-Star is doing well according to Waterman. "He's playing out of his head right now. UNC, Duke, Virginia, Notre Dame, Kentucky, you name it they've been through to see him."

Another kid to look out for at Sanford is sophomore big man Joe Dyson. The 6-9, 240 pounder missed time last year with an injury. "He just played a little bit last year and had an ankle injury. He missed almost a month. He's young and he's totally different that Will. Joe is just big and powerful and a back to the basket kind of guy."

Dyson has a chance to be a high-major player. plans on taking in a Sanford workout Dec. 3 and we'll have more team reports from Hockessin next week.
