Devon Evertsen, 6-6 JR SF Phoenix (Ariz.) Moon Valley, is currently ranked as the #2 small forward in the west.

We spoke with Devon recently and he told us that Arizona, Colorado, Colorado St., Oregon St., New Mexico St. and Arizona St. all came to his high school in September to watch him work out.

We asked if he had a list of early leaders yet and Devon replied, "Kansas, Arizona, Duke, Iowa St., Syracuse, Georgetown and Cincinnati."

He listed Arizona and North Carolina as the two schools he admired the most when he was younger.

When asked which factors would be the most important when making his decision, Devon said, "The personnel, how I fit in there, and the coaches." We asked if he cared about staying close to home and Devon replied, "No, it's about the basketball. I'm open to going somewhere else and not necessarily staying in the west."

Devon said that he'll probably take his trips and go through the summer before making a decision. But he said that could change if Arizona were to offer him early. "I know the program, the coaches and I've been to the campus. If they offer me early, I could commit there."

Devon said that he has a 3.2 GPA and will take the SAT in January.
