Darger Will Decide After Summer

Joe Darger, a sharp-shooting small forward from Utah, has a number of schools expressing interest in him...

We spoke with Joe Darger, 6-6 SR SF Riverton (Utah) High, recently and asked him which schools were showing him the most interest.

"UNLV, Utah State, Arizona State, UCLA and Colorado State," said Darger.

Darger said he isn't ready to choose a school just yet. "Probably after the summer," said Darger. "I won't take my trips until then."

We asked Darger about the factors that would influence his decision and he replied, "A chance to play early and the style of play. I like a mix of both up-tempo and a more structured style. A place where they play a team game and someplace where I like the players."

Darger said he isn't necessarily looking to stay in Utah. "I don't really want to go to the East Coast," said Darger. "Someplace fairly close so my family could come see me play."

Darger told us he has a GPA of 3.4 and he scored an 18 on the ACT. He plans on taking the test again.
