Skillz Players Make Decisions

Two members of the Fox Valley Skillz, each from a different class, committed to programs within the state of Wisconsin in the last two days.

Tom Crean's Marquette Golden Eagles received a commitment from Anthony Green, a 6-foot-4 guard out of Beloit (WI) Memorial on Thursday, according to Fox Valley Skillz AAU coach Ritchie Davis. He is Marquette's first commitment from the Class of 2006.

Green is highly regarded in his state.

Meanwhile, over at Wisconsin-Green Bay, Tod Kowalczyk's program accepted a commitment from a rising senior. Mike Schachtner, a 6-8 post player from Somerset High in the state of Wisconsin, committed to UW-Green Bay.

Miami-OH, various Ivy Leagues and UW-Milwaukee were recruiting Schachtner. Cordero Barkley, a top prospect in his 2005 class from Wisconsin, was the first player to commit to Kowalczyk.

Schachtner jumped quick when the Phoenix offered. ""It was an opportunity that I didn't want let slip away," the forward said. "If I had taken too long it could have disappeared. The coaching staff was great and the campus seemed like a great fit for me."
