Kyle Singler, 6-6 sophomore small forward, Medford (Oreg.) South Medford, is easily one of the best prospects in the west for the rising sophomore class.

Singler not only already has good size, he has excellent skills, with a very soft shooting touch.

If he continues to grow, as some close to him believe, he could end up a very skilled power forward.

We caught up with Singler and asked him about what was in his mind when it came to recruiting this early in the process.

"My dream school has always been Duke, to play for Coach K," Singler said. "But if not that, I'd like to stay on the west coast and play for Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State or UCLA. But it's just a loose list right now, nothing really certain."

Singler's father, Ed, played quarterback at Oregon State in the mid-‘80s.

Singler said that staying on the west coast could be a priority for him. "I'd like to stay close to my family. I'd like to continue to be there for them. Weather, I like the west coast weather. I like the state of Oregon, and its weather."

Singler says that education will be a big issue for him. "My family puts school first, basketball second. So I'd like to go to a good school to play basketball. I'd like to get a good degree. So, it'd be good if the school were prestigious academically."

He plays on the same Oregon AAU team as highly-touted 6-8 fellow sophomore Kevin Love, and Singler said he and Love are friends. "Yea, we have talked about going to college together. He's a great player to play with. It'd be fun to be at the same school as him."
