Johnson Brothers Back on Market

Kendrick and Calvin Johnson were committed to Texas Tech not too long ago. Not anymore.

Calvin Johnson and his brother, Kendrick, aren't quite sure how and why it happened – but the Morton High (Texas) standouts are searching for a new school.

The 6-2, 195-pound Calvin, also a football star, and his 6-10, 225-pound brother, Kendrick, committed to Texas Tech last November.

Not anymore.

``We didn't say anything about not going there, but someone put it out there that we were looking at other places," Calvin said. "In our minds, we're still committed to Texas Tech. But I believe they (Texas Tech) have it open."

``It's kind of frustrating," he added. "I guess now we're looking."

Calvin, who also plays quarterback and may try and play both sports in college, said that it's not a definite that the pair will play together in college – but that it would be nice if things worked out that way.

The brothers split time between the Texas Top Prospects and the Texas Blue Chips this summer. Calvin is a strong shooting guard who can finish while Kendrick is athletic – but needs to work on his offense.

``We didn't say anything about going anywhere else," Calvin re-affirmed. "We didn't even know about it until all of the sudden, our high school coach called us and told us that on the Internet it said we're not committed to Texas Tech anymore."
