Blue Demons Strong With Currie

One of the bigger point guards in the class is Detroit Pershing's Jabari Currie. The 6-foot-4 Currie has four schools chasing him with some intensity this month.

Jabari Currie, a standout with the Michigan Hurricanes, heated up his recruitment with a solid performance at the Reebok ABCD Camp last month. Now, the 6-foot-4 Detroit Pershing guard has some pretty significant schools trailing him.

"I think the summer went well, really," Currie said. "People didn't really know about me from the beginning and now they know about me."

From the sounds of it, DePaul, Purdue, Miami and Missouri are quite familiar with him. The Blue Demons seem to have the inside track here. "Somebody could probably beat them but I really don't think so," Currie said.

The guard has taken the SAT – and was short on the first try – so he's all set to take official visits though no dates have been set up yet.

Despite feeling "really comfortable" with the DePaul staff, Currie wants to take some trips. "I'm going to take my visits and see how they go."

Last season at Pershing, Currie averaged 18 points a game.
