Chandler Still Open

At one point, the rumors surfaced that Wilson Chandler had decided to stay in state and join Tom Izzo's program. Well, that hasn't happened yet, but it still may. The 6-7 senior is still open right now.

It was, admittedly, an up and down summer for Wilson Chandler.

The Benton Harbor 6-7, 190-pound senior, who was at one time extremely close to pulling the trigger for Michigan State, still has the Spartans atop a lengthy list.

Chandler is a long active player who averaged 24 points per game as a junior for one of the state's top clubs. He needs to work on his ballhandling and add strength before he finishes up his high school career.

Chandler said that he isn't really sure why he has held off in committing to MSU.

``I don't really know," he said. "I stepped back because I don't really know what I want to do just yet."

Chandler recited a list that included Syracuse, Florida, Arizona, Purdue, Ohio State, Indiana, Illinois, Virginia Tech, Houston, Dayton, Xavier and Boston College. However, it's fairly clear that Chandler isn't legitimately looking at many of those schools – and that many of them aren't really serious about him as well.

``I have no leader right now," Chandler added. "I'm open."
