The 6-3, 220-pound senior, who has transferred from Glencliff (Tenn.) High to Oak Hill Academy (Va.) in an effort to raise his academics and his level of play on the court, has two clear leaders in Memphis and Tennessee.
Gordon, who has been home for a couple weeks after taking summer school classes at Oak Hill, will return to the basketball powerhouse at the end of this month.
``It's been an adjustment so far because there's nothing to do out there," Gordon said. "But I went there to bring up my GPA so I can play my first year in college."
Gordon hasn't set any visits yet because he has yet to take the ACT. His first crack at the test comes a couple weeks after returning to Oak Hill.
``I've been watching Memphis a lot and I really like Coach (John) Calipari," Gordon said. "I like their offense. I like Tennessee's program, but to me they don't have as many good players as Memphis."
Thus, Gordon admitted, the Tigers are the leader.
``If I had to pick today, I'd go to Memphis," he said.
Gordon said he will visit both schools officially and he may take trips to Texas and Alabama. He's already taken an unofficial to Tennessee and has been to Memphis before, but hasn't really had a chance to see the campus.
