Griffin's Focus Narrowing

What a summer for Taylor Griffin! The Edmond (Okla.) Oklahoma Christian standout has a leader and the big boys have come calling for his services.

The summer was very kind to Taylor Griffin, a 6-foot-6 ½ combo forward out of Edmond (Okla.) Christian. After an impressive outing a Nike followed up by another sweet week at the Peach Jam, high-major schools began offering Griffin.

"I've been trying to cut it down to the schools that I know are really interested," Griffin said. So far, he's got Oklahoma, Dayton, Charlotte, Marquette, Washington State, Villanova, Penn State and Stanford on his short list. The only school that is guaranteed an official visit is OU. The Sooners, Dayton, Charlotte and Washington State have offered.

Right now, the Sooners lead. "It's not a huge lead," Griffin said. "They're up there basically because I've taken that visit and I've gotten to see them."

Griffin has some requirements and he wants to play right away wherever he goes. "I want to get in there and play. I don't want to sit around and wait a couple of years to get some quality playing time."

Most of the schools recruiting Griffin see him as a power forward that can gradually expand his game and play the small forward spot.

Charlotte and maybe Stanford and Villanova could be in line for trips.
