Always the competitor on the court, Mitchell needs to play. "I need to get a lot of playing time," he said. "I want to be there in the big games and start. I want to stay on the floor most of the time. I want to be known as a factor."
Mitchell says he hears the calls for him to stay home all the time. "I get it a lot. I just smile."
As for the chances UK has of landing him, Mitchell can't say right now. He's not sure what more they can do either. "It's really going to be my decision. It's nothing that they can do. I can get myself out of state or keep myself in state. It'll come down to me."
Either way, Mitchell plays in the SEC next season. "I just like what I see out there. The SEC is really competitive out there. Every team has somebody who can play."
So far, Mitchell's lone official visit has been scheduled for Sept. 10 with the Tigers. He has not set the UK date yet.
