Post Summer 2005 West Coast Rankings: Point Guards

The post summer rankings for 2005 points guards in the west have several changes from our rankings prior to the summer...

The point guards in the west for 2005 have some interesting prospects but very few elite players. Chalmers is the clear-cut choice for the top ranking. An explosive athlete, Chalmers is not a pure one but he's very talented. He can score in bunches and he's improved his ability to set up teammates. Collison is among the quicker point guards in the west. He has an accurate outside shot -- although the stroke is a bit long -- and he's adept at getting into the lane to make plays. Johnson has a very good combination of size, quickness and skill level. He's improved considerably in the last year
and there's still room for growth. He's got a nice frame, good
length and a solid stroke to the stripe. McTear is a quick, pure
point with a strong handle. His mid-range shot is fine, but he
needs to improve from distance. With added strength, he should be fine. Johnson is another pure point guard with a nice feel for the game. His shot is just decent, but he has good vision and he plays
