Joseph Reaches Final Decision

Maurice Joseph, a Top 100 prospect in the Class of 2005, ended his recruitment Wednesday evening. Joseph is headed to the Big Ten.

Champlain St. Lambert has produced some outstanding players the past few seasons and sent many to American colleges. The latest export from Canada to the U.S. is 6-foot-4 guard Maurice Joseph, a Top 100 player who will lace them up for Michigan State in the fall of 2005.

On Wednesday night, Joseph committed to the Spartans after considering North Carolina State, Massachusetts and Ohio State.

"I know it's going to be competitive going in there," Joseph said. "I'll just go in basically and try to help Michigan State win another national championship. We'll have a lot of good players, but my mindset is to go in there and help. Hopefully we can win a national championship."

According to his high school coach, John Dangelas, Joseph felt very much at ease with the Spartans.

"When he went down and visited it unofficially he really felt comfortable with the place," Dangelas said. "He really likes the guys; he likes the way they play. He likes to play physical even though he doesn't look like it."

Joseph is one of those guys who gets a little better each time out. He's a multi-positional kid who can shoot it from the perimeter.
