Keion Kindred, 6-3 PG Compton (Calif.) Dominguez, committed to UTEP late in the summer, but did not sign with the Miners when his mother asked him to wait and see what other options may come in the spring.
We ran into Keion Saturday night at the Westchester tournament and asked which schools have been showing interest now that he's decided to wait. "Clemson, Providence, Syracuse and Oregon St. have called," Keion said. "They didn't really put any pressure on, though, and kept the calls pretty brief."
With the departure of Tyson Chandler, Darius Sanders and Bobby Jones from Dominguez, Kindred has had to assume more of a scoring role for this year. In the games we saw last week, Kindred was shooting more from the perimeter and his shot looked pretty good. If he can hit the outside shot consistently this season, Kindred will likely draw interest from several high majors by spring.
