A&M Leads For Grant

One of the standout performers from Tom Topping's Team Florida has a leader. Keaton Grant currently favors a Big 12 program.

Keaton Grant, a 6-foot-3 guard out of Kissimmee (Fla.) Gateway says that Texas A&M is his current leader.

Apparently, new head coach Billy Gillispie has done an amazing job selling himself and the program. "The relationship I have with the coaches," Grant pointed to as a reason for their lead. "I heard good things about what they did at UTEP and I can go in there as a freshman and play 30 minutes a game. I wouldn't have to get used to the weather, that's pretty much like Florida and it's in a great conference."

Grant will visit the Aggies the weekend of Sept. 18. Missouri and St. John's are also interested but have not tipped their hand as to a scholarship offer or an official visit offer. Missouri in particular, could come see him in September.

"I know they're interested in me and Coach Meyer wants to come down and watch me in an open gym."

Grant has found it tough finding schools that he meshed with during the process. "It's a lot more complicated. It's going good though. It's hard finding out which schools really want you. You develop a relationship with a coach and you want to go in another direction and you have to tell the coach and that's one of the most difficult calls."
