Fields Taking His Time

Levance Fields is playing it cool. The Xaverian point guard doesn't have any visits set up and outwardly he doesn't appear to be in any rush to decide.

Levance Fields, a 6-foot-1 point guard who is ranked No. 64 in America, is taking his time. He counts interested schools from St. John's, Pittsburgh, Villanova, Boston College Miami and South Florida yet he doesn't have any visits set up.

"Right now, to be honest, the list is still open," Fields said. "A lot of coaches are surprised when I say that. I don't have any favorites of any sort. I have a lot of options."

Fields, like many of his peers, think the relationship with the head coach is crucial to his decision, not to mention court time. "Definitely playing time. Hopefully it'll be a great campus and a learning place. I'm not just going there for sports. I'll need a good relationship with the coach.

"I like coaches who are going to be on you, show you the right way and learn."
