Korvotney Barber Talking Four

Korvotney Barber burst onto the scene this past summer virtually out of nowhere. Now the big-time power forward is ready to get his first of four official visits underway.

Korvortney Barber has kept a fairly low-profile, especially since breaking a bone in his hand in June.

The 6-7 ½, 220-pound Manchester High (Ga.) aggressive power forward is completely different off the court. On the court, he goes after everything – dunking, pulling down rebounds with authority, blocking shots and running the court in transition.

Off the court, he's as mild-mannered and unassuming a kid you'll find.

Barber, who picked up a job at Kentucky Fried Chicken a couple months ago to earn a few extra bucks, will leave Friday for his first official visit – to Georgia.

He'll take a week off before having back-to-back trips to Auburn (Sept. 18) and Florida State (Sept. 25) before finishing up with a visit to Kentucky for Midnight Madness on Oct. 15.

``I don't really have a favorite going into the visit," Barber said. "I just want to find a place where I get along well with the staff and the players. Someone I feel comfortable at."

Barber, who was forced to miss all of July with the Smyrna Stars due to the hand injury, said that playing time will be the most important factor in his decision.

``I think I can play at all four of the schools I'm considering," Barber added. "So I'm really not sure until I take some visits."

However, Barber did admit that he was leaning towards one school recently.

``I wasn't going to commit to Auburn, but I really liked them a lot," he said.
